A Missouri Senate committee is scheduled to hear testimony today about a proposed statewide prescription drug monitoring program.
Senator Tony Leutkemeyer has proposed the Narcotics Control Act which will create a statewide database that requires healthcare providers to keep a record of any controlled substance they dispense, and who they dispense it to. Fines will be established as well for doctors who don’t comply. Missouri is the only state in the country without a prescription drug monitoring program.
