The 85th Lucerne Stock Show is set to take place from July 31 to August 3, offering a variety of activities for all ages. This annual event promises to be action-packed, featuring livestock shows, games, and community events.

Wednesday, July 31

The stock show kicks off with the dairy goat show at 10 a.m. (registration from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.) and the dairy cattle show at 2 p.m. (registration from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.). The Putnam County Health Department will be offering blood pressure checks from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The 4-H and FFA exhibits will be on display from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., with premiums awarded. The evening concludes with a community barbecue at 6 p.m. (please bring a dish to pass) and a church night at 7:30 p.m. The cook shack will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Thursday, August 1

The sheep show begins at 10 a.m. (registration from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.), followed by the meat goat show at noon (registration from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.). The beef show starts at 5:30 p.m. (weigh-in from 4 to 5 p.m.) and the day ends with the popular newlywed game at 7:30 p.m. The cook shack opens at 11 a.m.

Friday, August 2

The swine show starts at 9 a.m. (weigh-in from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m.), with the cook shack opening at 8 a.m. The rabbit show begins at 1 p.m. (registration from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) and the poultry show at 3 p.m. (registration from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.). The evening wraps up with kids’ games at 6:30 p.m., and kids are reminded to bring their own frogs. All livestock shows are open to 4-H and FFA members in Missouri or Iowa, with health rules applying.

Saturday, August 3

The final day starts at 9 a.m. with the Antique Tractor and Small Engine show. Dog races begin at 9:30 a.m. (registration at 9 a.m.), and the Kiddie Tractor Pull at 10:30 a.m. (registration at 10:15 a.m.). Cornhole starts at 11 a.m. (registration at 10:30 a.m.), with a $20 team registration fee. The Lawn Mower Tractor Pull starts at 1:30 p.m. (registration from 12:30 to 1 p.m.) and the 3-on-3 basketball contest at 3 p.m. (registration from 2 to 2:30 p.m.) with a $5 per person entry fee. The BBQ judging contest begins at 4 p.m., and the pie contest at 5 p.m. (registration from 4 to 4:45 p.m.). All building exhibits will be released at 6 p.m., followed by the Talent Show at 6:30 p.m. (registration at 6 p.m.). The stock show concludes with a pie auction during the Talent Show judging and a performance by Pat Pittman and friends.

The food shack opens at 8 a.m. on Saturday. Don’t miss the opportunity to sample the delicious offerings from the famous Lucerne pie bakers. Raffle tickets will be available throughout the fair, with the winner announced after the music on Saturday. Updated facilities ensure a comfortable experience for all attendees.
