Area fairs announce schedule of events for Friday, July 12, 2024

The Galt Community Fair has a packed schedule with various activities and events lined up. All 4-H and FFA exhibits, quilts, crafts, floral arrangements, and garden entries are due by 10 a.m. at the Fire Station. A lunch room with a full menu will open at 11 a.m.

The Grundy R-5 FFA is hosting a cornhole competition at 5 p.m., with registration for the event starting at 4 p.m. The day will conclude with a street dance featuring Red Brush from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair.

The Linn County Youth Fair in Brookfield also has a busy day planned. The schedule includes an air pistol event at 8 a.m., small bore pistols at 10 a.m., muzzleloading at 1 p.m., and small bore positions at 5 p.m.

Swine judging is set for this evening at the Sullivan County Fair in Milan. The event will feature a Pee Wee Swine Show at 6 p.m., followed by a breeding swine and market hog show.

In Gallatin, the Daviess County Junior Livestock Show will take place at Dockery Park. The schedule includes sheep judging at 10 a.m., a goat show at 1 p.m., and a dog show this evening at 5:30 p.m.
