Andrew County motorcycle crash results in serious injuries

On August 2, 2024, at approximately 11:23 p.m., a motorcycle accident occurred on Route H, one mile south of Fillmore, Missouri. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash involved a 2005 Yamaha WR 450F driven by Kiefer R. Gillenwater, 27, of Fillmore, Missouri.

The accident happened as the motorcycle was traveling southbound on Route H. Gillenwater reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to fall onto its side and slide across the roadway. As a result, the driver was ejected from the motorcycle.

Gillenwater was found two miles south of the crash site with serious injuries. He was not wearing safety equipment at the time of the accident. Emergency medical services from Andrew County transported him to Mosaic Life Care of Saint Joseph.

The motorcycle sustained minor damage and was removed by a private party. The Missouri State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
