A 9-year-old girl was seriously injured in a 4-wheeler accident in a private yard on Locust Street in Kidder on the evening of August 1, 2024. The incident occurred at approximately 8:15 p.m., according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The juvenile was driving a 1989 Coolster 4-wheeler northbound in the yard when she struck a T-post, causing the vehicle to overturn. The young driver, whose name has not been released, was wearing safety equipment at the time of the crash.
Following the accident, the girl sustained serious injuries and was transported by Caldwell County Ambulance to Children’s Mercy Hospital for treatment. The 4-wheeler was driven from the scene.
The crash was investigated by Corporal V.R.E. McBride of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, with assistance from the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Department.
