As of 4 p.m. Friday, August 23, 37 properties were listed for the upcoming Grundy County Delinquent Tax Sale on August 26. The sale is scheduled to take place at the courthouse in Trenton at 10 a.m.

The properties are spread across several townships: 13 in Trenton Township, 11 in Madison Township, eight in Wilson Township, three in Franklin Township, and two in Liberty Township.

The sale will be divided into three categories based on the number of years the taxes are delinquent. Properties with three years of back taxes will be offered in the first sale. Those with four years of unpaid taxes will be included in the second sale. Properties with five years of delinquent taxes will be available in the third sale.

Each property must be sold for an amount that covers the outstanding taxes and associated fees.

Individuals interested in bidding at the delinquent tax sale are encouraged to visit the Grundy County Collector-Treasurer’s Office before the sale begins on the morning of August 26. Prospective bidders are required to provide a driver’s license for photocopying, sign an affidavit, and obtain a bidding number. All bidders must be Missouri residents and current on their personal and real estate taxes.
