24-year-old dies in crash on Trap Rock Road in St. Francois County

A 24-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning on Trap Rock Road in St. Francois County, Missouri. The accident occurred at approximately 3:50 a.m. on August 24, 2024, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash involved a 2015 GMC Sierra traveling eastbound on Trap Rock Road. The vehicle, driven by Joshua D. Zaricor of Farmington, Missouri, veered off the roadway, struck a tree, and collided with a house.

Joshua D. Zaricor was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. He was pronounced dead at the scene by St. Francois County Coroner Coplin at 4:16 a.m. His body was transported to the St. Francois County Morgue.

The vehicle sustained total damage and was towed from the scene by Marler’s Towing.

The St. Francois County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the crash site.
