17-year-old suffers serious injuries in crash west of Old Pattonsburg

A 17-year-old male from Weatherby, Missouri, sustained serious injuries in a single-vehicle crash Saturday morning on Route D, approximately five miles west of Old Pattonsburg, Missouri, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred around 10:33 a.m. as the teen was driving a 2006 GMC Canyon northbound on Route D. According to the crash report, the driver failed to negotiate a left curve, causing the vehicle to veer off the east side of the roadway and overturn. The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle during the rollover.

The GMC Canyon was totaled in the crash and was towed from the scene by Scotty’s. The teen sustained serious injuries and was transported by DeKalb Clinton Ambulance to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, Missouri, for treatment.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by Trooper M. S. Cline and Trooper N. A. Regan.
