16-year-old bicyclist hurt in Ray County crash with Ford truck

An accident occurred on Saturday morning, August 10, 2024, at the intersection of Highway H and 3rd Street in Ray County, Missouri. The crash happened at approximately 9:45 a.m. when a 16-year-old boy from Henrietta, Missouri, failed to stop at a stop sign while riding his bicycle.

The bicycle was struck by a 2023 Ford F600, driven by 39-year-old Joshua W. Finley of Concordia, Missouri. Finley was driving southbound when the incident occurred. The Ford sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene. Finley was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The bicyclist sustained serious injuries and was not wearing any safety equipment. He was transported to Children’s Mercy Hospital by LifeFlight for treatment.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol, assisted by Ray County authorities, responded to the scene. No further details have been released at this time.
