Tuesday morning crash in West Quincy sends one to hospital

Two people were involved in an early morning collision on Highway 24 in West Quincy, Missouri, resulting in minor injuries and vehicle damage. The accident occurred at 6:35 a.m. on April 23, 2024, and involved a 2015 Volkswagen Passat and a 2017 RAM 1500.

The Volkswagen, driven by 18-year-old Gage M. Dawson of La Belle, Missouri, was traveling southbound when it entered the path of the eastbound RAM, driven by 54-year-old Elizabeth A. Gaus of Canton, Missouri. Both drivers were not wearing seat belts at the time of the incident.

Gage M. Dawson sustained minor injuries and was transported to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois, by Marion County Ambulance. The vehicles suffered from extensive and moderate damage, respectively, and were towed from the scene by Heartland Towing.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the Marion County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene
