MoDOT planned road work in north Missouri for the week of April 22

The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work the Missouri Department of Transportation has planned in North Missouri for the week of April 22-28.

Inclement weather may cause schedule changes in some of the planned work. There also may be moving operations throughout the region, in addition to the work mentioned below.

Andrew County

  • Interstate 29 – Bridge maintenance north and southbound at the bridge over I-229/U.S. Route 71, April 22.
  • Route V – CLOSED daily for a resurfacing project from Route 6/Route 31 (DeKalb County) to Route Z, April 19-23 (Herzog Contracting Corp.).
  • Route V – Resurfacing project from U.S. Route 169 to Route Z, April 24-30. Flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone. (Herzog Contracting Corp.).
  • Route Z – CLOSED daily in 2-mile sections for a resurfacing project from Cook NE (Buchanan County) to Route V, April 25-27 (Herzog Contracting Corp.).

Atchison County

  • Route 46 – CLOSED for a bridge replacement project at the Little Tarkio Creek east of Fairfax, through May 2024. (Contractor: North Central Bridge, LLC)
  • Route Y – Pothole patching from U.S. Route 136 to Route AA, April 24-26.
  • Route MM – Pothole patching from Route 46 to 310th Street, April 24-26.

Buchanan County

  • U.S. Route 169 – Resurfacing project from Route FF in Buchanan County to the Clinton/Clay County line through August 2024 (Contractor: Emery Sapp & Sons).
  • Route AC – Intersection and ADA improvements at Messanie Street through mid-May (Contractor: Herzog Contracting Corp.).
  • Route Z – CLOSED daily in 2-mile sections for a resurfacing project from Cook NE to Route V (Andrew County), April 25-27 (Herzog Contracting Corp.).

Caldwell County

  • Route 13 – CLOSED from Far West Drive to Kingston for a resurfacing project from the south city limits of Hamilton to just north of Route HH in Kingston through mid-June. (Contractor: Phillips Hardy, Inc.)
  • Route 13 – Pavement repairs from Mill Creek Drive at Hamilton to Route P, April 22-26 (Contractor: Phillips Hardy, Inc.) 

Chariton County

  • Route 11 – Pothole patching from Route CC to U.S. Route 24, April 23-26.
  • Route C – CLOSED for a culvert replacement project from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily at the following locations and dates:
  • April 23 – St. Joseph Avenue to Siloam Avenue.
  • April 24 – Siloam Avenue to Route F.
  • Route HH – CLOSED at the Bee Creek Bridge for a bridge rehabilitation project through mid-July. (Contractor: Capital Paving and Construction, LLC).
  • Route 5 – Resurfacing project from U.S. Route 24 to Route KK, April 22-23 (Contractor: Capital Paving and Construction, LLC).

Clinton County

  • Route H – CLOSED for a bridge replacement project from NE Estep Road to U.S. Route 69 through November 2024. (Contractor: Phillips Hardy, Inc.)
  • U.S. Route 169 – Resurfacing project from the Clinton/Clay County line to Route FF in Buchanan County through August 2024 (Contractor: Emery Sapp & Sons).

DeKalb County

  • Route V – CLOSED daily for a resurfacing project from Route 6/Route 31 to Route Z (Andrew County), April 19-23 (Herzog Contracting Corp.).
  • Route EE – Scrub Seal from Route 6 to U.S. 69, April 22-23. The road will be down to one lane with flaggers and a pilot car during working hours.

Gentry County

  • Route YY – CLOSED for a bridge replacement project at the Bear Creek Bridge through April 2024. (Contractor: Gene Haile Excavating, Inc.)
  • Route H – CLOSED for a culvert replacement from Ettieville Trail to 9th Street in Darlington, April 23, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Grundy County

Route V – resurfacing project from Chillicothe to Route 6 near Galt, April 23 to May 4. The roadway will be narrowed to one lane with flaggers directing motorists through the work zone. A 10-foot width restriction will be in place (Contractor: Magruder Paving, LLC).

Harrison County

  • I-35 – Pavement repair north and southbound from Eagleville to Bethany, April 22-26.
  • Route AA – Access to and from W 209 Ave will be CLOSED for a culvert replacement, on April 22, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Holt County

  • Route P – CLOSED for permit/utility work at the St. Joseph Sub Train Tracks in Fortescue, April 22-24, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
  • Route A – Bridge maintenance at the Holt/Nodaway County bridge, April 24-26. The bridge will be narrowed to one lane around the clock with temporary traffic signals in place and a 12-foot width restriction.
  • Route P – Pavement repairs from Route 118 to County Road 220, April 22, 6:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. The road will be narrowed to one lane during working hours.
  • Route C – CLOSED for pavement repairs from Route N to Route DD, April 22-23, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily.

Linn County

  • U.S. Route 36 – Bridge maintenance at the Locust Creek Bridge, April 22-25, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily. The bridge will be down to one lane with a 12-foot width restriction during working hours.
  • Route Y – CLOSED for pothole patching from Dart Road to Basker Road, April 23-25, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
  • Route 5 – Resurfacing project from U.S. Route 36 to County Road 302 April 22 – 26 (Contractor: Capital Paving and Construction, LLC).

Livingston County

  • Route D – CLOSED at the Rattlesnake Creek Bridge for a bridge rehabilitation project through mid-August. (Contractor: Capital Paving and Construction, LLC).
  • Route D – Sidewalk improvements in Ludlow through April. (Contractor: BRS Construction, LLC).
  • U.S. Route 36 – Resurfacing and pavement improvement project from the Coon Creek bridge in Chillicothe to the Caldwell County line through June. One lane may be closed in either direction around the clock. A 15-foot width restriction will be in place with a 10-foot width restriction under the U.S. Route 65 bridge and the Kansas City Sub railroad bridge in Chillicothe (Contractor: Magruder Paving, LLC).
  • Route V – Resurfacing project from Chillicothe to Route 6 near Galt, April 23 – May 4. The roadway will be narrowed to one lane with flaggers directing motorists through the work zone. A 10-foot width restriction will be in place (Contractor: Magruder Paving, LLC).

Mercer County

Route E – CLOSED for surveying from Keystone Avenue to 1st Avenue in Harris, Monday-Thursday, April 22-May 6, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

  • Nodaway County
  • Route NN – CLOSED around the clock for bridge maintenance from Panther Road to Orion Road, April 23-24.
  • Route AE – CLOSED for a culvert replacement from 385th Street to Panther Road, April 24, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • U.S. Route 71 – Ditching southbound from Route A to 370th Street, April 24-26. The road will be narrowed to one lane around the clock.

Worth County

U.S. Route 169 – Resurfacing and slide repair project from the Iowa State line to just north of Route 46 through July 2024 (Contractor: Herzog Contracting Corp.).
