Classes in the Trenton R-9 school district will be dismissed early this (Friday) afternoon to allow for the annual homecoming parade. This year, the grand marshals are retired long-time instructor Mike and Beverly Bosley. The parade begins at 2 o'clock this afternoon.

Trenton traveled to Cameron on Thursday night and played a marathon 14 inning battle with the Lady Dragons. Cameron jumped on the Bulldogs early, scoring the first two runs of the game in the bottom of the first inning, with three THS errors making things difficult on the "Black and Gold".

Sheriff Rodney Herring said Grundy County received multiple 9-1-1 phone calls at 1 o'clock regarding a shooting at a home in Galt. Sheriff Herring identified the victim as 32 year old Christopher Molloy: a resident of the home at 200 North Main that he shared with 37 year old Stephanie Miller.

In the early morning hours of Sunday, a state trooper arrested 27-year old Machelle Dowell of Galt for the alleged possession of a controlled substance. Livingston County Sheriff Steve Cosa said the detention officer on duty summoned Chillicothe Police to assist at the scene to avoid any "gender issues".

A 34-year old rural Galt man, Patrick Courtney, has been charged in Grundy County with first degree murder in the death of 32-year old Christopher Molloy of Galt, by shooting him after deliberation. Courtney is being held in the Grundy County Detention Center without bond. He is to appear Tuesday in Associate Division of Grundy County Circuit Court.

A single vehicle accident on Tuesday afternoon, three miles to the west of Pattonsburg, injured a driver from McFall. The Highway Patrol said injuries were minor to 18-year old Jacob Lichliter of McFall. He was taken by ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center.
