Flames and Fires : Fire destroys Spickard home

A fire on Sunday afternoon destroyed a Spickard residence. Fire Department Training Officer Jesse Richman said nothing of value was saved from the Shanna Tranthan family residence at 505 Jewell. The five member family was not home at the time of the blaze, believed to have been caused by an electrical issue. Firefighters were on the scene about 3 1/2 hours. |

The Trenton Bulldogs dominated their week six game against Lincoln Prep Academy, with senior tailback Austin Taul scoring four touchdowns, with fellow senior Dillon Triplet scoring twice, and senior kicker Seth Acton adding two long field goals in a 56-16 victory at C.F. Russell Stadium. |

KTTN/KGOZ Sports : Brookfield and Trenton finish 1-2 in District 6 girl's golf, advance to sectionals next week

The Brookfield Lady Dogs and Trenton Lady Bulldogs have advanced out of district play, with Brookfield finishing first and Trenton second in Monday's competition at the Kirksville Country Club. Brookfield's winning score was 432 with Trenton at 449. All five members of the top TWO teams, along with the OTHER top 10 scores individually, advance to sectionals next Monday, October 8th in Chillicothe. |

KTTN/KGOZ News : Motorcycle accident injures Chillicothe boy

A young Chillicothe boy was injured when, according to the Highway Patrol, the motorcycle he was driving went out of control in a mud hole on private property and the youth was thrown off. Injuries were described as MODERATE for seven year-old Lane Sampsel of Chillicothe. He was taken by ambulance to Hedrick Medical Center. |

KTTN/KGOZ News : Missing Brookfield man found safe in western Illinois

A missing 78-year old Brookfield man was located safe around 12 noon on Sunday in Hartford, Illinois, which is just north of St. Louis. Hartford Police said Francis Moseley stopped at a gas station, went inside the building, told people he was lost, and asked for directions. A police spokesman said Moseley seemed a little disoriented. Although people at the gas station did not know Moseley was missing, police were contacted. |

Student enrollment for the fall semester is down slightly at North Central Missouri College of Trenton; but it is still up considerably when compared to six years ago. Community college enrollment across Missouri also is down a bit but a sizeable increase is noted for the past six years overall. |

The Trenton Middle School Bulldogs played host to the Princeton Tigers Thursday at CF Russell Stadium. After a scoreless first quarter, QB Spencer Harris ignited the Bulldog offense and the crowd with a 49 yard gain to the Tiger 2 yard line. He finished the drive on the next play and the Bulldogs led 6-0 with 3:43 remaining in the half. |
