Hunters checked 69,614 deer during the opening weekend of Missouri’s November firearms deer season. The Missouri Department of Conservation says weather was the most significant factor affecting the number of deer checked.

Flames and Fires : Cameron fire claims one life

One person is reported dead as the result of a business fire in Cameron. Early Monday afternoon, the Cameron Police Department received a report of a structure fire at A-1 Mobile Truck and Tractor Repair at 1520 Pence Road. A fully engulfed machine type shed was located on the property.

Road Work Ahead : Work announced for U.S. 36/I-35 interchange at Cameron

Maintenance crews will be working this week in the WESTBOUND lanes of U.S. Highway 36 from Bob Griffin Road to U.S. Highway 69 in Cameron. The work will include closing the cross-over west of the Interstate 35 overpass.

A fire on Saturday night destroyed a car along Northwest Third Street just west of the Trenton city limits. The Highway Patrol said the vehicle previously had been involved in an accident at that location, and the driver left the scene. The driver's name was not immediately determined.

North Central Missouri College is among colleges nationwide participating in the National "Roll Call" on Monday. This event is Monday at 12 noon in front of Geyer Hall on the campus in Trenton. President Dr. Neil Nuttall will give brief remarks and North Central employee Chelsea Woodard will sing the national anthem. There will also be a recognition of Missouri's "Fallen Heroes".

Automobile Accidents : Caldwell County accident injures Bates City man

A west central Missouri man was hurt when the car he was driving went off Highway 13 and into a ditch north of Kingston. Thirty-two year old Jeremy Kirk of Bates City was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center, with what the Highway Patrol called minor injuries.

The PAR Broadcast Group now has the COMPLETE list of honorees in the Tri-Rivers Conference for the 2012 football season. A partial list was supplied, and read on the air yesterday. As expected, the two-time defending Tri-Rivers champion Milan Wildcats are strongly represented on the first-and-second teams, after a 10-1 season that included a 5-0 record in the conference.

At Chillicothe, a garage and a car were destroyed by separate weekend fires. The Department of Emergency Services was called out late Friday night to 122 JFK in Chillicothe due to the report of a structure fire.

Automobile Accidents : Highway 36 accident injures two men

Mooresville and Chillicothe men were injured early Monday afternoon in an accident on Highway 36, one mile east of Mooresville. The Highway Patrol said 46-year old David Hightower of Mooresville and 89-year old Roy Cope of Chillicothe were taken by ambulance to Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe.

Automobile Accidents : Arkansas woman injured in Interstate 35 accident

A Fort Smith, Arkansas resident was hurt when the car she was driving went off Interstate 35 and overturned south of Bethany. Sixty-six year old Sandra Hibbs was taken to Harrison County Community Hospital with what the Highway Patrol called minor injuries.

A 74-year old Humphreys man, Keith Smith, was killed late Wednesday afternoon in a farm accident just northeast of Humphreys. Sullivan County Sheriff Roger Smiley said Smith was using a farm tractor and disc mower when the tractor ran out of fuel.

Automobile Accidents : Gentry County rollover injures Stanberry woman

A Stanberry woman received what the Highway Patrol called MODERATE injuries in a Gentry County rollover accident on Wednesday morning. The Highway Patrol said 54-year old Vicki Eiberger was taken by ambulance to Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.
