During a meeting last night of the Laredo Board of Education, the annual tax rate hearing was set for Monday, August 12th. That hearing is at 6:30 which is before the regular board meeting at 7 o'clock that night.
The highway patrol reports one person was transported by ambulance when a total of five people received minor injuries yesterday afternoon in a Mercer County traffic accident. It happened six miles east of Princeton.
The hopes of a MINK League Northern Division championship for the Chillicothe Mudcats and St. Joseph Mustangs both disappeared within the past two nights, with the Clarinda A's celebrating a division title on Wednesday night after defeating the Omaha Diamond Spirit, while Chillicothe beat the Mustangs, 9-3 at Phil Welch Stadium.

There are seven candidates for North Central Missouri Fair Queen. Judging for the contest is July 28th with coronation of the queen and runners up on the outdoor stage for the North Central Missouri Fair the evening of July 30th.
