The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced that the Chariton County Highway 11 Bridge closure set for today (Monday) has been delayed until further notice. The Burlington Northern - Santa Fe bridge located five miles north of Mendon was set to close on Monday for a replacement project.
An Albany woman was hurt when, according to the Highway Patrol, she fell asleep and the car she was driving went off Highway 31 in DeKalb County. Sixty-six year old Ann Deville of Albany was taken to Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph, with what the Patrol called MODERATE injuries.
Soldiers from the 548th Transportation Company of Trenton, who served in Afghanistan and other deployments, received various awards during a Saturday night program. The Army National Guard held the "Freedom Salute" ceremony at the Ketcham Community Center, with awards also presented to those "showing support for the unit".

A Brookfield man was among three people injured on Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle accident in Linn County, two miles west of Brookfield on U.S. Highway 36.
The street overlay project for Iowa Boulevard in Trenton has been rescheduled for (Tuesday) and Wednesday. Street Supervisor Larry Griffin reports a new electric motor has been obtained for the asphalt plant following Monday morning failure of an older motor. That failure prompted Griffin to announce a postponement on the closing of Iowa Boulevard for the overlay project.

A Keytesville man was hurt when he hit the accelerator instead of the brake, resulting in his sport utility vehicle striking a Casey's General Store building in Keytesville. The Highway Patrol said the driver, 74-year old Charles Jaeger of Keytesville, received minor injuries.
A Galt resident was injured on Saturday afternoon when the motorcycle he was driving overturned south of Chula. The Highway Patrol said 38-year old Travis Sawyer of Galt was taken to Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe, then flown by medical helicopter to Liberty Hospital, with injuries described as "MODERATE".
Trenton residents Lauren Gray and her mother, Ali, have meetings scheduled on Monday and Tuesday with the staff of five congressmen and three senators in Washington, DC. Those meetings, and those with anyone "willing to listen", are part of ongoing attempts by the Gray's for Lauren to legally remain in the United States when she turns 21 on Wednesday, August 8th. That is when she NO LONGER would qualify as a dependent under her parent's Investor Visa's.

Five area school districts are among 29 finalists from across Missouri being considered for a rural education grant from Monsanto. The grants are $10,000 and $25,000. School districts under consideration include Pleasant View R-6, Princeton, Polo, Southwest Livingston (Ludlow), and Cameron.
Trenton building inspector Gary Beverlin says Larry Gilworth plans to open a FURNITURE STORE in Gilworth's Building near Five Points in downtown Trenton. However, Beverlin says he will need to inspect the structure before that happens.
A precautionary boil water advisory has been issued for a small area of northern Trenton. Trenton Municipal Utilities says the advisory is along 28th Street between Mable and Lulu Streets, and along Lulu Street between 23rd and 28th Streets.
