According to Garry L. Mathes, chair of the 2012 Missouri Livestock Symposium, this year’s beef cattle section is intended to help producers economically, plan for the future, be safe and provide the latest on some economically significant cattle diseases.

The Livingston County Health Center is again sponsoring its annual "Mitten Tree" to help provide mittens, gloves, hats, and scarves to people who can not afford to purchase them. Donations can be dropped off at the Health Center (800 Adam Drive) during normal business hours of 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM. |

Announcement was made today that Trenton High School has been nationally recognized for academic achievements despite having a majority of its students eligible for free and reduced price school lunches. T-H-S is described as being one of ten so called “break-through” schools in the NATION to receive the distinction from the Met LifeFoundation and National Association of Secondary School Principals.

The University of Missouri has announced the official signing of North Mercer High School senior Sierra Michaelis to a national letter of intent. Michaelis, a 5'10” guard, is the 2012 Missouri Wendy's High School Heisman winner, and part of a three person recruiting class for head coach Robin Pingeton.

The PAR Broadcast Group now has the COMPLETE list of honorees in the Tri-Rivers Conference for the 2012 football season. A partial list was supplied, and read on the air yesterday. As expected, the two-time defending Tri-Rivers champion Milan Wildcats are strongly represented on the first-and-second teams, after a 10-1 season that included a 5-0 record in the conference. |

Automobile Accidents : Highway 36 accident injures two men

Mooresville and Chillicothe men were injured early Monday afternoon in an accident on Highway 36, one mile east of Mooresville. The Highway Patrol said 46-year old David Hightower of Mooresville and 89-year old Roy Cope of Chillicothe were taken by ambulance to Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe. |

Automobile Accidents : Friday morning accident injures Unionville teen

A Unionville resident was hurt on Friday morning when the pickup truck he was driving overturned off Highway 136 west of Unionville. Eighteen-year old Richard Mendenhall was flown by medical helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia, with what the Highway Patrol called SERIOUS injuries. |

Stout defense gave the North Central Missouri College women a chance to get a road victory on Wednesday night, but cold shooting doomed the Lady Pirates, who lost 62-52 at Marshalltown Community College in Marshalltown, Iowa, dropping North Central's record to 3-2. |

The annual Jenkins Townhouse lighting ceremony in Chillicothe will take place on Friday night (November 16th) at 6 o'clock. Santa Claus and his friends will be on hand as a Chillicothe students turns the lights on for the holiday season at the Jenkins Townhouse, located on Cherry Street, west of the Chillicothe Hy-Vee. |

Flames and Fires : Cameron fire claims one life

One person is reported dead as the result of a business fire in Cameron. Early Monday afternoon, the Cameron Police Department received a report of a structure fire at A-1 Mobile Truck and Tractor Repair at 1520 Pence Road. A fully engulfed machine type shed was located on the property. |
