Fires : Fire of undetermined cause guts a Trenton home

Fire early this morning has left a Trenton home with major damage, but still standing, at 408 Washington Street. A fire department spokesman said no was home when the fire occurred.

The busy Trenton Lady Bulldog golf team played in its third event over three days on Thursday, and came home with plenty of hardware, with the team earning 1st place in the six team tournament with a score of 405, and senior Chandler Wilson taking the individual medalist honors with a round of 90 on the par 72 course in Lancaster.

The Milan High School softball team downed the Schuyler County Lady Rams 4-3 in a non-league game on Thursday night at Milan Legion Field. Alyssa Forster pitched the first four innings for Milan before being replaced on a hot night by Kyley Doak, who picked up the win after Bianca Caponetto cracked a game-winning double in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Accidents : SUV collision injures two Cameron women

Two Cameron residents received what the Highway Patrol called minor injuries when the SUV's they were driving collided with one another north of Cameron on Tuesday morning. Sixty-eight year old Judy Person was taken by ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center. Fifty-three year old Debra Whiteaker was taken by private vehicle to her doctor's office.

Dove hunters will need to be extra conscientious about safety this year, according to the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC). The reasons include weather and the timing of opening day.
