Automobile Accidents : Wednesday morning crash injures Tina woman

A Tina resident received what the Highway Patrol called SERIOUS injuries on Wednesday morning when the car she was driving overturned off U.S. Highway 65. Sixty-year old Barbara Mattox of Tina was flown by medical helicopter to Liberty Hospital.

KTTN/KGOZ Sports : PAR Broadcast Group announces play-by-play schedule through December 29th

The play-by-play sports schedule has been announced for the next 2 1/2 weeks for the PAR Broadcast Group, going through the majority of North Central Missouri College's Holiday Hoops event. Tonight (Thursday night), Green City plays at Milan on KTTN FM 92.3 and www.kttn.com, with pregame at 5:50, girl's tip at 6:00, and boy's tip at 7:30. On Friday night, the unbeaten Trenton girls host the Gallatin Lady Bulldogs at 6 o'clock, followed by the Gallatin/Trenton boy's game at 7:30. Both games will be on Hot Country Z 101.7 and www.kgozfm.com, and all four games (Thursday and Friday) will feature video live-web streaming from our website's 'Internet TV' link. The Trenton Lady Bulldogs moved to 7-0 on the basketball season, with the Trenton boys improving to 5-2, with a pair of road wins on Tuesday night at Carrollton High School. Trenton put things in "cruise control" early and breezed to a 64-12 victory over the Lady Trojans, while the Trenton boys strong first quarter led the way to the Bulldogs 59-43 victory.

The Milan girls and boys basketball teams traveled to Edina on Tuesday night to battle the Knox County Eagles in a Tri-Rivers Conference doubleheader, with the Wildcats coming home with a pair of losses, 62-43 in the girls contest, and 58-17 in the boys game, to drop to 1-2 in conference play. Tuesday's games were broadcast LIVE on KTTN FM 92.3 and www.kttn.com, and seen on 'Internet TV' from www.kttn.com.

Congressman Sam Graves, on Monday morning, announced he has nominated a Brookfield High School student, Micah Blakely, to the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Blakely is an Eagle Scout and active in Brookfield's Student Council. His parents are David and Cindy Blakely of Brookfield.

Flames and Fires : Items sought for victims of Chillicothe house fire

Donated items are being sought for a Chillicothe family who lost belongings in a fire at their residence on Monday night. The Chillicothe Fire Department says about 100 gallons of water and foam were used to extinguish smoldering embers in the attic and ceiling joists in the kitchen area at 104 East Second Street in Chillicothe.

Automobile Accidents : Saturday morning incident closes southbound I-35

A non-injury traffic accident on southbound Interstate 35 near the Winston exit resulted in southbound lanes of the interstate being closed for nearly five hours on Saturday morning. The accident involved a tractor-trailer unit and a van. The tractor-trailer unit was carrying batteries.

KTTN/KGOZ News : Winning ticket drawn in raffle to finance installation of flag pole at museum

Announcement was made today of the raffle ticket winning number drawn recently. The sale of tickets generated funds for the placement of a flag pole at the Grundy County Museum. Mark Robinson conducted the raffle which he said raised 12-hundred dollars to finance the project.

Very little information (as of Thursday morning) has been released by authorities concerning a fatal shooting that happened on Tuesday evening near Powersville, in Putnam County. The Putnam County Sheriff's Department is quoted as reporting the shooting claimed the life of eight-year old Rowdee Valentine.

Flames and Fires : Tuesday afternoon fire damages Trenton residence

Fire on Tuesday afternoon extensively damaged the John and Lacy Limkeman residence at 1427 Merrill in Trenton. Firefighter Jeremy Summers said most of the fire damage was on the first floor at the rear of the house. However, there was also damage on the second floor, and in the basement. In addition, there was smoke and heat damage throughout the structure.

The Grundy County Panther basketball teams each found the winners circle on Tuesday night, earning victories in the consolation semifinals of the HDC Conference's basketball tournament at North Mercer High School. The Grundy R-5 girls beat Cainsville, 53-48, with the Panther boys downing Gilman City by a final score of 53-36.

A Stewartsville man was taken to a St. Joseph hospital hours after an accident in rural Clinton County on Saturday night. The Highway Patrol says the accident (at 9:50 PM Saturday) occurred three miles southwest of Stewartsville on Keller Road.

The Highway Patrol says two Stewartsville residents were SERIOUSLY injured when a car overturned off Highway 36 west of Cameron early on Saturday night. The driver, 24-year old Kacy Teeter, and a passenger, 26-year old Jacob Bennett, both of Stewartsville, were taken to Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.
