News : ATV collision west of Princeton injures three

Two all-terrain vehicles collided on Sunday afternoon eight miles west of Princeton, injuring three people. The Highway Patrol described injuries as SERIOUS for 22 year old Lacey Edwards of Hamilton, who was flown by medical helicopter to North Kansas City Hospital. She was a passenger on an ATV driven by 22 year old John Whitsell of Clarksdale.

News : Trenton Rotary Club begins accepting Missouri Day Festival parade entries

Although it is still five months away, the Trenton Rotary Club is announcing that they are accepting entries for the annual Missouri Day Festival parade. The October 20th parade will start at 8:30 in the morning and include numerous high school marching bands. Steve Maxey can be contacted with parade entries.

News : JAKES Day Events planned for Saturday

Children are invited to outdoor events this Saturday, June 2nd, at a campground west of Trenton. The National Wild Turkey Federation sponsors its annual JAKES Day events starting at 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Activities are designed for boys and girls age 5 to 15. They will need to be accompanied by a parent and / or guardian. Drinks will be provided.

Accidents : Carroll County wreck injures Branson man

Drivers from Carrollton and Branson were injured yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon in a Highway 65 accident at Carrollton. The state patrol said 72 year old Wilma Boheman of Branson received MODERATE injuries and was taken by ambulance to Carroll County Memorial Hospital.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says three Richmond residents have been charged in connection with the death of 40-year old Michelle Rheuport of Richmond. She was found dead in her residence by a family member on Wednesday morning, May 23rd.

The American Legion Post 25 Cardinals, on Wednesday night, beat Millhouse by a score of 4-1. Post 25 scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead. Millhouse scored in the top of the seventh for their only run in the game.

Eight additional swimming beaches open today (Friday) at Missouri State Parks, including Thousand Hills State Park near Kirksville. Crowder State Park west of Trenton is considered a "swim at your own risk" lake, and already is available for swimming.

News : Grundy County's Relay For Life scheduled for Saturday

The fund raising goal is 30 thousand dollars for Saturday's Relay for Life events in Grundy County. It is the annual benefit for the American Cancer Society. Eleven (11) teams will be setting up outdoors on the Trenton High and Middle School campus. The theme this year is a “Rainbow of Hope.” The 12 hour event begins at 12 noon on Saturday.

The highway patrol lists a Trenton woman as being injured in an accident yesterday (Tuesday) in extreme northeast Missouri's Clark County. The report said 21 year old Megan Recklein of Trenton received minor injuries when she swerved her car to miss a tire on U-S Highway 136.

The featured speaker for next week’s awards banquet of the Lions All-Stars Basketball Classic is no stranger to the basketball court or to the Lions organization. Cori Elms graduated from Cameron High School in 1993 and that same year, she was selected to play in the Lions All-Star Basketball Classic. She not only played in that game, but her two free throws were the deciding factor in her team’s victory.

You can learn more about Medicare Parts A, B, C, and D by attending the program to be held in the conference room of Serve Link Home Care. Organizers say those attending can also learn about resources available to help with Medicare costs. The presentation is scheduled from 9:00 to 12:30.
