KTTN/KGOZ News : Livingston County Health Center to host Adult Wellness clinic

The Livingston County Health Center will be offering its Adult Wellness Blood Draw Clinic on Wednesday morning, January 30th from 7 o'clock to 10 o'clock. The clinic will be held at the health center office at 800 Adam Drive in Chillicothe. The clinic is an effort to encourage adults to recommended preventative screenings conveniently, and at an affordable charge.

Automobile Accidents : Carrollton woman injured in Tuesday afternoon accident

A Carrollton resident was hurt when the car she was driving traveled off a Carroll County road, hit a road sign, went airborne, hit a ditch embankment, and overturned, coming to rest on its wheels in the ditch. Twenty-six year old Angela Grimes was taken to Carroll County Memorial Hospital (in Carrollton) with injuries described as MODERATE by the Highway Patrol.

U.S. Farmers & Ranchers Alliance (USFRA) announced that Chris Chinn (Clarence, Mo.), has been selected as one of the winners of its Faces of Farming & Ranching program. This nationwide search was launched by USFRA in June 2012 as a way to identify farmers and ranchers who are proud of what they do and are eager to share their stories.

KTTN/KGOZ Sports : Norfleet's basket gives NCMC Pirates 64-61 win over St. Louis

The North Central Missouri College Pirates were able to play their style of basketball, namely a grinding, tough defensive effort combined with timely offense, and in the process picked up their biggest win of the basketball season on Saturday, 64-61 over the visiting St. Louis Archers. Redshirt sophomore Marshon Norfleet scored 20 points in the victory, including the game-winning basket and free throw with 2.5 seconds remaining in the second half. KTTN/KGOZ News : Livingston County seeking answers to solve home burglary problem

The Livingston County Sheriff's Department is seeking information from the public regarding daytime residential burglaries in northwestern Livingston County. The Sheriff's Department says it recently began an investigation of a residential burglary on LIV 511 where a forced entry was made into the unoccupied home, and a variety of firearms and sporting goods were stolen.

Automobile Accidents : Grant City teen killed in Friday night accident

One person was killed and another suffered SERIOUS injuries on Friday night when a car overturned off a road northeast of Grant City, throwing both teenage boys from the vehicle. Fatally injured was the driver, 17-year old Cody Schrock of Grant City. A passenger, 17-year old Justin Smith of Grant City, was taken to Northwest Medical Center in Albany with what the Highway Patrol described as SERIOUS injuries.

Four members of a Kidder family were hurt when a van traveled off Highway 6 east of Jamesport, hit a ditch, became airborne, and hit the ground again. The Highway Patrol said the driver, 27-year old Melissa Potts, and her children - three year old Brooklyn Morgan, eight-year old Zayden Edge, and three-year old Tristan Edge, all of Kidder, were taken to Liberty Hospital with MODERATE injuries.

LIvingston County Sheriff Steve Cox, in an update to a story reported earlier this week, says at least "one person" has been identified as a possible suspect stemming from an investigation into recent burglaries in the northwestern part of the county, where multiple firearms have been stolen from two residences.

The Jamesport Tri-County School District will not have classes on Thursday and Friday because of illness to students and staff. Superintendent Phil Fox said 29% of the students were absent today (Wednesday). That number is up from 25 percent on Tuesday. Four to five staff were also absent, with another two to three reporting "feeling poorly".

Assistance in helping people quit smoking is the focus of an eight session class being offered by the Grundy County Health Department. The class begins Tuesday January 29 and persons can signup at the health department.

The Highway Patrol reports that a second person has been accused in connection with the armed robbery of a bank in northeast Missouri last Thursday afternoon. Twenty-six year old Savanna Barger of Atlanta, Missouri is accused of Felony Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery. She is also accused of 'failing to appear in court' in Macon County on traffic charges.

A Saturday morning house fire in Trenton caused what was described as 'extensive fire damage' to a bathroom and nearby hallway, and major fire damage to the living room area. There also was smoke damage throughout the single story house at 915 Kumler where Bryan McGuire and Camry Holsted resided.

A Brookfield resident was injured early Sunday morning when the pickup truck she was driving overturned off Highway 11 at the Linn-Chariton County line. Twenty-four year old Dustie Howard was taken to Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield and later flown to University Hospital in Columbia. The Highway Patrol said she had MODERATE injuries.

A sport utility vehicle overturned off of a FROST-covered Highway 6 near Galt early Thursday morning, injuring a Lucerne resident. Twenty-two year old Daniel Thompson was taken to Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton, with injuries described as minor by the Highway Patrol.
