A Trenton man lost his life yesterday (Friday) while crop dusting in rural Randolph County. Thirty-six year old Brad Hammond was killed in a small plane accident. Arrangements are pending at Resthaven Mortuary in Trenton. |

Two representatives of the Chula Fire Department made a request at this week's meeting of the Livingston R-3 Board of Education, discussing the possibility of installing a helipad on the school property in Chula. The school administrator plans to check with the school's insurance carrier regarding liability before any decisions are made by the Board of Education. |

Plans to celebrate the 110 year old Missouri State Fair will include a reunion of former Missouri State Fair Queens. Director Mark Wolfe said the royalty will be recognized in special events on Thursday and Friday, August 9th and 10th, including the opening day ceremony, parade, and annual queen competition. |

Trenton Fire Chief Rick Morris, on Monday morning, lifted the ban on outdoor burning that had been in effect in the city due to June's dry conditions. The Grundy County Commission will consider whether to lift the burn ban in rural areas of Grundy County when they meet this week (Tuesday). |

The long-awaited college choice for North Mercer girl's basketball standout Sierra Michaelis could be coming, perhaps sooner than later. The St. Joseph News-Press had a conversation with Michaelis within the past few days in which the Lady Cardinal senior-to-be indicated that she would like to give a verbal commitment to a school "by the end of July". |

Trenton resident Ali Gray says she has been in contact this week with the offices of Senators Roy Blunt and Claire McCaskill, and Congressman Sam Graves, concerning her family's residency efforts. The family is on a federal government waiting list for green car permanent residency status. Of most immediate concern is the approaching 21st birthday of the Gray's oldest daughter, Lauren. |

Health Advisories : Southeast Daviess County placed under boil advisory

A precautionary boil advisory has been issued for an area south of Jamesport in Daviess County. Affected are areas between HIGHWAY 190 on the east and Daviess County ROUTE O on the west. The southern boundary of the boil advisory is Route V. The northern boundary is Prairie Avenue. |

Two children from Pattonsburg were injured on Tuesday afternoon in an all-terrain vehicle rollover accident just east of Pattonsburg on Route C. The Highway Patrol said one of the drivers, nine year old Ashton LaFave of Pattonsburg, received MODERATE injuries and was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center. |

This week’s drought monitor index report, released this (Thursday) morning, shows numerous counties across Missouri with severe drought conditions. There are exceptions in a couple far-reaching areas of the state. The map shows several counties of southeastern Missouri in an EXTREME drought as they have been drier for a longer period of time. |

A Chillicothe man is accused of several traffic violations following a police pursuit involving a four-wheeler. Chillicothe Police Sergeant Scott Chubick said officers attempted a traffic stop of a four-wheeler near the intersection of Jackson Street and Elm Street on Friday night. However, the driver DID NOT stop and a pursuit commenced. |
