Putnam County, Green City, and Milan FFA chapters are among those from this area to qualify the most judging teams for state following district-level competitions this week for northeast Missouri schools. Putnam County of Unionville will send six judging teams to the state FFA convention this month; Green City qualified four teams; and Milan will send three teams. Teams from Green City and Meadville captured first place at the northeast Missouri career development events.

A Platte County judge has agreed with a defense motion to NOT allow ballistics evidence and certain testimony in the event the state conducts a third murder trial for 38-year old Mark Woodworth of Chillicothe. Woodworth has twice been convicted of murder, armed criminal action, assault, and burglary in events stemming from the early 1990's.
A Gallatin man is in jail after six felony count were filed against him stemming from an investigation by the Daviess County Sheriff's Department. Twenty-four year old Bryan Scott Carter was arrested on Saturday, regarding the alleged forcible rape of his four-month old child.

Murder charges were filed on Monday against two suspects that were arrested following a crime spree that began on Sunday night in Moberly and ended Monday morning in Macon. The Randolph County prosecuting attorney charged Jeffery Nichols and Christopher Lewis with first degree murder, with bond set at $1,000,000 each.

A Jameson man was injured and then arrested due to an A-T-V accident last night on Kodiak Avenue just south of Jameson in Daviess County. One person was injured yesterday afternoon in an accident about three miles south of Avalon in southern Livingston County.
