Five area school districts are among 29 finalists from across Missouri being considered for a rural education grant from Monsanto. The grants are $10,000 and $25,000. School districts under consideration include Pleasant View R-6, Princeton, Polo, Southwest Livingston (Ludlow), and Cameron.

Health Advisories : Portion of NORTHERN Trenton placed under boil water advisory

A precautionary boil water advisory has been issued for a small area of northern Trenton. Trenton Municipal Utilities says the advisory is along 28th Street between Mable and Lulu Streets, and along Lulu Street between 23rd and 28th Streets.

The Livingston County Commission has TEMPORARILY lifted a burn ban for parts of Friday and Saturday for all of Livingston County, except the city of Chillicothe. Burning WILL be allowed on Friday from dawn until dusk and Saturday from dawn to dusk, with the burn ban going back into effect Saturday night at dusk, again for ALL areas of Livingston County outside Chillicothe.

KTTN/KGOZ Sports : Defending district champion Lady Bulldog linksters begin practice on August 6th

The Trenton High School girl's golf team will begin practice on Monday morning, August 6th from 8 to 10 o'clock at Riverside Country Club in Trenton. The Lady Bulldogs are the defending district champions, a goal reached two of the past three seasons. Coach Jeremy Austin says with a good group of girls returning, Trenton expects more success in 2012.

Two Cameron residents were injured this (Thursday) morning when a sport utility vehicle overturned north of Cameron. The driver (68 year old Judy Person) and passenger (55 year old Margaret Hamilton) were taken to Cameron Regional Medical center with 'minor' injuries.

Linn-Livingston Public Water Supply District #3 has issued a precautionary boil advisory. The northern boundary for the advisory area is Highway 36. The eastern boundary is Locust Creek. The southern boundary is Fountain Grove. The western boundary is the Linn-Livingston county line.

Automobile Accidents : Highway 136 accident injures four area teenagers

Four youths from Albany and Stanberry were hurt early Friday morning when a car traveled off Highway 136 and hit a tree west of Princeton. The Highway Patrol said a passenger, 17-year old Hunter Sweat of Albany, received the worst injuries of the four, his described as "MODERATE" by authorities at the scene.
