Automobile Accidents : Four members of a Milan family injured in wreck

A Milan couple and two young children were injured last night when their sport utility vehicle traveled off State Highway 6 east of Milan and overturned. The Highway Patrol described injuries as serious for all four occupants.

Automobile Accidents : Overnight accident fatally injures Bucklin teen

A Bucklin youth was fatally injured, and two other people were hurt, in the near head-on collision of two vehicles west of Marceline. Seventeen year old Zachary Cupp of Bucklin was pronounced dead early Thursday morning at University Hospital in Columbia, about 4 1/2 hours after the accident. Cupp was the driver of one of the cars involved.

Chris Green, an NCMC graduate, was offered a minor league baseball contract by the Baltimore Orioles earlier this week.  After his graduation from NCMC in 2009, Green transferred to Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville where he pitched two seasons for the Bearcats.

Senator Claire McCaskill of Missouri is hopeful something can be done to help Lauren Gray of Trenton regarding the soon-to-be 21-year old's residency status. Lauren, her mother Ali Gray, and a friend of Lauren's, Shelby Muff of Trenton, met with Senator McCaskill on Tuesday in Washington, DC. The Gray family is seeking the ability for Lauren Gray to legally remain in the U.S. when she turns 21 next Wednesday, August 8th.

Health Advisories : Area north of Lock Springs under boil advisory

Livingston County Public Water Supply District #4 has issued a precautionary boil advisory for its customers on 332nd Street, north of Lock Springs (a distance of approximately two miles). The advisory to boil water used for cooking and/or drinking is effective until THURSDAY afternoon at 1:30. It was caused by a water main break.

Road Work Ahead : Iowa Boulevard work now underway

The street overlay project for Iowa Boulevard in Trenton has been rescheduled for (Tuesday) and Wednesday. Street Supervisor Larry Griffin reports a new electric motor has been obtained for the asphalt plant following Monday morning failure of an older motor. That failure prompted Griffin to announce a postponement on the closing of Iowa Boulevard for the overlay project.

It was nine years ago on August 1st when St. Luke's Health System began operating Hedrick Medical Center. On the anniversary of that agreement, St. Luke's and the city of Chillicothe held a ceremonial ground-breaking to commemorate the start of construction for a new hospital and doctor's building off the southeast corner of Highway 65 and Mohawk Road.

Trenton Municipal Utilities will be conducting water main repairs on Wednesday in a portion of northwestern Trenton. It will result in a WATER OUTAGE on Wednesday morning, beginning at 8 o'clock for TMU customers along 23rd Street between Mable and Chicago Streets, Chicago between 21st and 26th Streets, and Lulu between 23rd and 27th Streets.

Automobile Accidents : Galt rollover accident injures three

Three people received what the Highway Patrol called minor injuries when a pickup truck overturned and hit a fence in Galt. The driver, 22 year old Terry Delauder, and a passenger, 23 year old Amber Delauder, both refused medical attention. Medical attention also was refused for an infant child, Tanner Delauder.

St. Luke's Health System and the city of Chillicothe hold a groundbreaking ceremony this (Wednesday) afternoon for the new Hedrick Medical Center facility. The event is at 4:30 at the intersection of U.S. Highway 65 and Mohawk Road. A reception will follow at the Green Hills Golf Course's clubhouse from 5:00 to 6:30. Both events are open to the public.
