Four addresses were added to the nuisance list during Monday night’s meeting of the Trenton Building and Nuisance Board. Declarations of a nuisance were approved for 1413 Main, 2415 Webster, 2418 Fisherman Road, and 2106 Mable.

712 Harris Avenue was moved to a certificate of existence of a dangerous building. It was reported that a dangerous building certificate had been filed on the deed for 1423 Chestnut Street, and utilities were turned off.

The former JC Penney building at 1860 East 9th Street was moved to a public hearing. Thirty-day extensions to allow more time for work to be done were given to 120 Highland and 601 East 9th Street. After hearing information from Building Inspector Wes Barone, the board decided to keep Wesley United Methodist Church at 113 East 9th in the public hearing category. Barone said asbestos was being abated, and a contractor is expected to begin demolition of the storm-damaged building. He noted utilities had been turned off.

Barone reported he had visited with a Dollar General district manager about removing a dead tree on their property at the west edge of Trenton. He mentioned several improvements that had been made at 2201 Park Lane, which may allow the board to remove the certificate of a dangerous building at that location. Barone also said he spoke with Fred and Patsy Griffin about additional work needed at 2102 Park Lane.
